After giving readers almost 15 months to vote, it appears t.A.T.u.’s “All the Things She Said” is the top lesbian song of all time, followed by Tegan and Sara’s “When I Get Up.” A distant third is Melissa Etheridge’s “Come to My Window.”
The question: Is t.A.T.u.’s “All the Things She Said” really the top lesbian song of all time, or was it just popular when the poll was up? Keep in mind that the gay folks selected “Dancing Queen,” in a poll that was taken decades after the song came out.
“UGH, really?” AfterEllen.com told us in response to this outcome. “There are so many better songs than that – my mind is blown… I guess it’s one of the easier ones to think of in this new generation of lesbians… I just hope they can open up their ears more and discover so many other amazing (really queer) musicians.”
Or, just watch t.A.T.u.’s video, and wonder if it really deserves the top spot.
